“Screening” functionality
A new Screening feature has been added. This can be accessed from the Map Controls panel by selecting the Screening tab. Users can specify a search radius between 0.5 km and 50 km and run a screening assessment. The search area is displayed on the map in blue, while all protected sites within the selected radius are highlighted in red. The screening searches for protected sites of all designations, regardless of the designation filters selected in the Designation tab. Selecting Explore Sites opens a table listing all protected sites found within the search radius, together with the distance (m) to the closest point of each site from the selected location.
UK SAC sites “Feature Global”
The “Feature Global” of each of the UK SACs features has been added.
This includes non-qualifying (‘D-grade’) features that are not a reason for SAC selection at a particular site. Note that a feature may not occur on all parts of a site, especially in the case of large SACs. The features grade for each site have been taken from the Joint Nature Conservation Committee “UK National Site Network (SAC and SPA): site summary details spreadsheet” (2026)1.
