%0 Report %D 2017 %T Mapping Critical Levels for Vegetation: Chapter 3 %A Defra %X

This fully revised version of Chapter 3 of the ICP Vegetaition report includes updates to the critical levels for ozone agreed at the 30th ICP Vegetation Task Force Meeting, 14-17 February, 2017, Poznan, Poland. The critical levels for SO2, NOX and NH3 and associated text have not been changed since the previous version. This version was published in April 2017 (minor edits October 2017).

The survey recorded over 3000 epiphytes from 334 trees (Fraxinus excelsior) representing 74 lichen, 14 moss, 7 fungal and 3 algal species. There was a significant inverse relationship between diversity and NO(x). Diversity declined where NO(x) exceeded 70 microg m(-3) and NO2 exceeded 40 microg m(-3), suggesting a phytotoxic effect. However, there was a significant positive relationship between NO(x) and lichen abundance due to the ubiquitous distribution of pollution tolerant species, mainly associated with eutrophication. A scale of lichen sensitivity to NO(x) has been derived. %B Environmental Pollution %V 146 %P 299-310 %0 Report %D 2007 %T An introductory guide to valuing ecosystem services. %A Defra %I Defra %C London %G eng %U http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-countryside/natres/eco-value.htm %0 Report %D 2007 %T Source attribution and critical loads assessment for Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas in the UK %A Bealey, W.
